Does it play region 1 (usa / canada) CD's as i wanna buy a few movies but don't know if it will work.
Anyone know ? Also anyone know any good sites that sell pirates etc ?

it will if you buy the action replay 2 or dvd region x. You will also need an RGB scart lead and an NTSC compatable TV or it will be in black + white.

lol you need to know about it if u want to play imported movies! NTSC is the american TV standard, we are PAL

Basically no.
Unlesss you purchase either a dvd region X or an action replay. Both can be bought in any game shop and are about 20 quid. Your tv also needs to be able to handle NTSC codes (american) instead of PAL (english). Most new tvs do.
dont know of any pirate sites, I know some one who sells vcds/svcds/dvd-r's of films that arent out yet. If you want his email address just let me know. Think he charges 5 pounds for a dvd.

No. It will say wrong region as your PS2 is set to play only region2. The region X and Action reply allows the PS2 to play any region on your playstation.
