There is a recall for certain corsa/astras etc with chain driven engines, 1.0 1.2 1.4's for the cam cap bolts coming loose and camshafts snapping. Yours may not be in the chassis range but worth a phone call to vauxhall as you may get it repaired for free by them. Just a thought

Very very common must see it at least once a week, Vauxhall do not torque the caps down enough from factory. All the new Vauxhall engine have faults. I had a Corsa D in with 26k last week with bolloxed engine.

Don't say that. Wife's 57 plate D sounds rough as fuck. Done about 60k. I will quite possibly cry if hers does that
