Not big news to most I guess but I just read that Darlington FC will cease to exist after this weekend.

Its looking increasingly likely that will be the case. Hence why over 1000 of them went to see them play what looks like their last game against Barrow on saturday. 127 years down the pan.

I'm by no means a fan but English heritage should get involved and get em back on their feet.

Well over a milion apparently. Chairmen has been taking out loans and securing them against the club. But its ust the start of the problems really and they started about 3 owners ago. The fact the play infront of 2,000 in a 25,000 seater stadium which cant be used for anything other than football is just one of a few major problems.

I can remember when that stadium opened. It wasn't long opened when the KC was built.

You'd like to think there was someone out there willing to take a chance on them. Why didn't McKay use his loaning experiment on them as well as Doncaster or something like that?

A million quid is literally fuck all in football.

Problem (possibly) is no-one will want to take them on with debts around their neck. Sometimes it's best to die then reform, it worked for Chester and although I suppose we're not 'technically' the same team we play in the same colours in the same ground and are doing much better now. I hope Darlo survive or are reborn.

Which means our game with them goes ahead, which im happy about, i just hope it isnt all futile.

We'll take loads to this and donate plenty to buckets, they may even be able to keep going for another game or two off the back of us
