Cant decide what to do with the motor.

Full body kit, or just spray up standard bumpers and then do the 2ltr route?!

Yerh Beardy that threads what got me thinking again. I just cant decide what i want to do with it. Ive been talking to lee about an engine conversion, which i would really like to do, but being 21 (but with 4 yrs NCB) not 2 sure what it will do to my insurance.

Then started to think about the bodykit route again, which i was thinking of ordering next week but after reading ure post there im now back to being undecided again! Totally agree with what your saying tho. Kits can just look too over the top and wrong. LuckyB's corsa is 1 of a kind with all that power in an almost totally standard skin. Maybe its that uniqueness that makes it so appealing.

I had a look around your car at hemel, that is one big kit you have there! But at the same time, sit LuckyB’s and ure car side by side, ures is the one that has that ‘WOW’ factor about it if you know what I mean.

I know modding is a totally personal taste thing, just so undecided at the moment wanted to get a few views about it.

Thanks for your reply

Cheers

IMO, even with a bodykit a corsa is still just a shoppy trolley (with the performance to match)

I fink body kits are old hat and have been done to death!! try keeping it subtle (but attractive), steinmetz and irmscher are u best bet.

Engine wise 2.0l all the way, my best m8 has a standard looking corsa (still has all the 1.4 and ls badges on it ) but has dropped in a 2.0l and it really is amusing having golf Gti's, Saxo VTR...etc pulling up at the lights and giving it the biggun,, but when those lights go green he usually ends up thrashing em

BUT when u can not get over speed bumps and your F Bumper looks white because of stone chips, and when your m8s get in and they kick the skirts, give it 6-12 months and if u havent had the kit repainted then it will look shit, and make u unhappy. where with BIG power it will be there day in day out no matter what happens.

Very true.

Think i need to give my insurance a ring, find out what the damage would be if i put a 2ltr in. Being 21 think it may be a bit of a jump, but i do have my 4 yrs NCB i guess.

Keep it clean, not a big fan of these kits. Def tidy it up & then dump a 2.0 in it!

Problem with me is i can only afford a 1.4 due to insurance purposes. And they can only be modded and enhanced so much. So with a 1.4 i think looks are more important then performance ? dont u think ?

Yerh, I originally got the 1.4 SRi because i didnt want to end up paying silly money for a GSI on insurance.

If i went for a kit, it wouldnt be anything over the top, just subtle. Airdam is prob as extreme as i would go, or i may just keep the standard bumpers, but just body colour the lot.

OR

I could spend the money on the engine. Hopefully next week i'll get a chance to talk to my insurance company and find out how much a 2.0 16v will cost me on top of my insurance, that will prob be the deciding factor!
