Have you just put the engine in? if so, fuel lines on the right way?

Does it have an aftermarket alarm / immobiliser? If so, that'll kill fuel and normally spark?

Are you getting a spark? If not, could be crank sensor as it'll kill spark and fuel if it's not working.

Could also be fuel pump, you could try sticking a live to it to seeif it'll run then.

only if the correct connections were used.

on my mates, the lines were chopped and they're now push on connections and jubilee clipped on.

This is the reason I said it, seen lots of xe conversions where this has happened.
