what tuning options are available for the gsi 1.6 engine and also are the 1.6 sport engines and gsi engines the same

the blocks are the same but the heads are different, also the c16xe uses a maf sensor and the x16xe uses a map sensor and egr, tuning wise for the c16 pretty much the usual breather mods like airfilter ( im personally using a derestricted and drilled airbox with k and n panel filter) 4.2.1 manifold decat straight through exhaust and can use a powerbox aswell but you have to change ur lower inlet for a x16 one, but the list is endless mate can go into carbs or throttle bodies or even turboing just depends on ur budjet and what ur willing to do most will say just fit a c20xe best power for £ by far

theres loads of info on here mate snd loads of different routes of tuning you can take, try doing a search there will be tons of info on here

what sort of power are you aiming for and what are you going to use the car for?

l reg and early m reg gsi's had the c16xe, where the later gsi's and 1.6sports were all x16xe

Would a ecu off a gsi fit a sport? Both 1.6's? Also my mate fitted a powerbox to a x16xe and made all the blanking plates should he of used a different inlet?
