If the corsa was set up on some decent suspension, cage etc etc
I think it would have a fihting chance possibly edge it depending on the type of driver.

this is a 210bhp Corsa (prob just under 1 ton) on 048Rs and a 1500kg R32 GTR with 320 or so bhp and site road tyres, standard susp, standard brakes...

The corsa just had the edge on the straights.... just. It was a fair bit better on the brakes but thats no real use in this debate.

er, then you fit susp/cage to the other cars and they would gain an advantage too.

What im say ing is the only way i think the corsa could compete with them is to have them and the others not.

I don't see how it could be the Corsa really, maybe with a very good driver it could be close but the other two will be much easier to drive fast for the average driver.

I'd imagine the standard suspension on the Impreza/Skyline will also be a lot more capable than that of the standard Corsa. They are both performance cars, the Corsa, even in GSI/Sport spec, certainly isn't.

impreza for me, weight of the skyline will hinder handling, suspension of the corsa will ruin handling, impreza is a good middle ground

Out of the box the skyline and impreza were more aimed at fast driving then the corsa so I would say between them. plus 4wd advantage over an open diff fwd car

Home comes the skyline got breathing mods or was that just to make it as equal as possible

just to try and get power / weight a bit more on par.

A standard R32 GTR at 280bhp and 1500kg would most likely get pumped

Seriously, if i posted this thread, with a corsa, a corrado and an escort Si as the cars, i would get major trolling accusations sent my way.

Everyone knows the corsa would win, the scooby driver will be shifting gears and accelerating too low down the revs so he sounds cool, the skyline driver will be drifting round every bend to show how much power they have, and the little corsa with be nipping about getting the best racing line and going full throttle round the bends with just a bit of tyre squeal

I would say Impreza based on the power delivery and slightly lighter then the GTR.
