can you take this off from the gear bit, instead of having to replace the whole lot.

Unclip the shaft from the linkage at the base and the white plastic thing will slide down I think, then you turn it so the thing that is sticking out of the side is lined up with the slot. From memory. Or do as Tom says.

sorted it. just popped the clipped off at the bottom and replaced the whole stick with a new one.
