Has anyone ever come across these?

http://www.allnewtyres.co.uk/tyre-details.asp?id=3926&SONAR SX-1 EVO 235 40 18 / 2354018 95W New Car Tyres

Ive finally found the wheels I have been wanting for my Volvo C30 in mint condition but found out they come with the above tyres (wheels and tyres covered less than 1000 miles)

I have never heard of them and want to make sure I know what Im getting before committing to them. Dont want them to need replacing in no time and therefore £400+ on a new set of tyres

I do about 15k miles per year mainly motorways

They're just a cheapo budget tyre by the looks of it. Never heard of them myself.

Is that necessarily a bad thing and worth steering way clear of then?

The bargain isnt as good if I have to spend £400+ on a new set off rubber all round

sonar are quite cheap tyre. I've not seen them in years actually. depends what your options are, and also, what you use the car for. if you just potter around town and sit at constant speeds on a roads and motorways, be fine tbh.

What nic says really. I had cheapo budgets on my R32 when I bought the BBS reps, they were basically new and as I wasn't going to do any kind of track days or drive he nuts off it they lasted very well and were surprisingly grippy.

Budgets are usually harder and last longer

Just want to be sure they arent more prone to blowing or likely to lose grip easily if the weather is bad (i.e. dangerous and not worth the risk)

No tyres will just 'lose grip' if you are driving to the conditions.
