As above, only very slightly when coming to a hault or hard braking. Anyone know what it could be? Rear shoes maybe?

Sounds like the shoes is very low and going through to the metal.
Pull the drum off and inspect.

i thought so.
Couple of tips for changing the shoes.
loosen your hand brake cable off first.
File the lip off of the drum before you put it back over the new shoes.
If the drum slides on easily, take it off and turn the adjuster until the drum is a snug fit on the shoes, not mega tight just snug (it may take a few tries)
Once you've done both sides, put drum on, press the brake pedal a few times then adjust your hand brake cable back up.
