whats the best stuff to use to polish you wheels? not looking for something thats guna cost alot
want something cheap but to work

It depends what kind of state you want to polish them to. Believe me its not an easy task. and it takes a very long time to get good results. I did the lips on my wheels and made a guide. Its burried in my build thread somewhere http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=592151&page=1

my dad hunted about for a while and found a place that chrome alloy. wasn't cheap iirc but looks the part

Paint stripper.
Wet & Dry sand paper.
Buffer wheel drill bit.
Metal polisher.
Hard work.

jack the car up at the front. put wheels on without tyres. get some sand paper (work your way down in grits) while someone sat in driving the front wheels

Handbags ladies!

As said, there's no 'easy' way of polishing lips. Unless you pay someone to do it, but it's fairly expensive due to the amount of time it takes for a decent finish

how about some sort of chrome paint danny?

you get the paint, materials and beer money il have a go at it for you. have access to a gun but that'll obviously cost a bit more

I did them on my bike not long after I got it. I went from 300, 600, 800 then 1200 wet and dry, 1500 wet and dry then a 2000 trizact pad with some autosol. Took me a week to do them all, They looked great but needed to be polished weekly just to keep the shine.





Ended up getting them powder coated as they where a pain to keep shiny!

Only problem with laquering them, The laquer has a tint of yellow to it so it will take a bit of shine off them. Also with stone chips it would start to chip and peel off.

Not really, think most of them do it, there is a certain type that is less yellow but at the minute i cant remember what it is
