allows them to electronically adjust the rear wing for less downforce, lets them go faster basically but only allowed to use it a certain amount of times

drag reduction system, basically a flap on rear wing which opens and allows air to pass through increasing top speed

didnt know there was a limit? thought you had to be within 1 second of person in front when you go past the DRS zone before you could use it

yeah your limited to usually 2 points on the track where you can activate it aslong as your 1 second behind someone (doesnt have to be the person in the position above you, could be a back marker), cant use it anywhere else on the track unless your in qually then you can use it as much as you want where ever you want.

so back to my point in that there is no limit to how many times you can use it though? you can use it as many times as you want in the zones? not like 20 times max per race for example?

It's also usable whenever the driver likes during qualifying, and during most of free practise.
There are one or two exclusions to the qualifying free for all, such as the monaco tunnel.

^ which is important to note as certain teams have set themselves up specifically for DRS advantage during Quali, such as Mercedes GP.

yeah its not limited in the sense that you can only use it 20 times per race, you cant use it for the first 2-3 laps at the start of a race and after a safety car other than that your able to use it as many times as you want in the specific sections.
