Great cars. Cost a bit with the prices from renault and you can only get the R26 from Renault. 225 plenty of pattern parts around

Still looking, hence me bringing this thread back up. What are Renault parts like? Some Clio bits were very expensive for the type of car. Will it be significantly cheaper than an m3 to run? Guessing it would.

I'd say so John judging by me looking into running both..

18 odd MPG vs 30 ish MPG for one
Half the insurance
Cheaper tax
Vastly cheaper parts and servicing and tyres

Drove one of these s few weeks back in red. Lovely car and rapid through the gears. The diff I thought was great and worked really and it seem to have an enormous amount of grip. Really liked it and seem to be excellent value for money. I'd have one if I wasn't doing the mileage.

Pretty much what I've heard most people say about them Toby like they seem to have more power that what's on paper. Just shows what a proper chassis can do.

Love the R26's but is it just me that thinks that paying five grand to get to 335ish bhp is extortionate?

Don't think I'd bother going past Stage 2 if it were me. The gains are small relative to the money spent after that point.

There are cheaper places now like a fully forged engine 2k then turbo, mapping injectors less than 3k.

Parts not cheap retail discs and pads all round for about 400.

Wishbones 160
Suspension drop links 50 each
R26 headlights 200 each

Probably, my mums has had two done in 18months at £380 each!
Coil packs have gone, dephaser went, clutch knackered (done 30k)

Wouldn't touch one personally.

renault will give you a % off window regulators and loom fiiting as good will gesture for cars upto 8 years old, i got mine done the other week at cost of £100 no where near the £380 as said above, this was new loom and regulator with parts garuntee, can also get the regulators fixed by by a service on ebay at about £40 a side, just need to know where to look and what to ask for rather than taking the price for it,

aside from one window and boot button change iv had no probs at all with my 175 in the year iv had it, and quite enjoy driving it even being the derv variation still good fun with remap

She got ripped off for the Windows. It's the anti pinch mechanism that get water in and expand and lose connection. I got it sorted for £60 a side
