Basically was sat watching tv last night at about 12.30 got a phone call off a couple of my mates from manchester saying they were in leeds and had missed the last train back to manchester and could i pick them up and take them home. Its about 80 miles from my house to leeds then 40 to manchester then another 50 home. They said they would pay for petrol and give me some extra for the trouble.

Question is would you do this?

It does take the pish a bit.

If it was me in that situation, I would have either called a family member, or searched for a cheap b&b / travelodge.

Don't see a problem. Along as you don't need to be anywhere early in the morning, you're not too tired etc.

Things like this, I always think I would do it if I thought they would do it for me.

So usually yes.

They phoned everyone else, i was last hope due to me being furthest away.they had work and stuff this morning so needed to be back.

I did it and was an absoloute nightmare due to m6 to m62 road being shut and 50 miles of roadworks but going back to manchester was a good drive over the moors, roads were clear.

Talking proper mates not facebook friends so i think its acceptable, id like to think theyd do the same for me

I'd do it, even if I had work the next day.

I'll do odd stuff for my mates if they don't take piss . Although I usually find they all want bailing out and to lend everything . If I know they appreciate my help and say thanks then I don't mind it's when there in no appreciation I'll never help them again.

I do exactly what i'd expect others to do for me.

I know who my real mates are and I know who'd help me.

I've done something similar before, very late at night.

As said, I'd do it if they were true mates and didn't make a habit of needing bailing out from situations like that.
