Ive notice alot of the cheap chinese items on ebay exhausts etc, some of them at like 10x the normal price..

yet this is £420 - and say 54 sold,

there is no way 54 people would pay that much, are they hoping one person will slip up??

But wouldn't that have cost them 54x £42 (10% of sale cost to eBay as fees) to run this "scam"?

They put the price up when they run out of stock to save taking the auction down.

Probably sold via offers. Look at the feedback, page 2, Nissan Silvia manifold and elbow pipe, sold for £149, yet when you click the "view item" part, they have it listed for £649 or make an offer.

John is bang on, click on the 54 people that purchased it and you will see what they paid.

A company did this for flat wiper blades, they just whacked the price up when they were out of stock and then dropped it when they had more back in, same as what John said
