You are doing the right thing by lining it although i dont think the ply is quite thick enough?

I think if it was me id either do 2 things:

Line itwith thicker ply and then polythene sheet.

Buildid it up higher, insulate it and put a split lid on it and use it as a storage area for the chairs and table, kids garden toys etc... and then it doubles up as a bar area that you could sit speakers on and drinks when you have garden partys / bbq's etc...

Ply will be perfectly fine. Deffo needs lining with a poly sheet or it'll be rotten within the year.

Aye its got 8mm ply now with a thick poly sheet all around. Put some ronseal oil on at the weekend, the applicator tht comes with it is a complete joke. Going to use a soft brush for the next coat.

Forgot about this, i made a lid for it, took the soil out and use it for storing the bairns toys in, its not waterproof, but its just for outdoor toys anyways.

Was going to turf the area in front but left it, got a sleeper frame around the soil area to raise it up a bit for a veg patch we are starting this year. Wont be much in there, only 1.7x1.4m, but its just for a bit of fun showing the bairn how food grows.

All turned out pretty good i think.
