0 - 60 in 4.221seconds

Not bad for a thing that size!

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

Amazing both how close the two SRBs land to each other, and also how close the recovery ships are! Given the 41 miles up thats a very precise landing spot!

I will probably seem the most stupid person ever now but why did the boosters fall back to earth ? I thought they would have just continued to float in space unless they detracted at a distance where the gravitation pull of the earth was still active ?

I went when I was younger <10years old and even saw a shuttle launch. Unfortunately I can't remember it, just got a toy shuttle and a photograph to show for it.

Likewise I went when I was younger. The day we landed in America there was a launch and we Stoped at the side of the road along with a lot of people and saw one go up

Amazing thing to see.

I've been to the Kennedy Space Centre too, but like Kyle I was too young to really remember anything now. All I do remember is seeing the huge shuttle mover.

Something like this...

There is a clip on YouTube of a shuttle launch from the window of a commercial jet in flight, it's awesome
