What are common problems on astra vans?
I have seen this van below:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261045956795?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Its fairly local to me and looks alright, ive been offered it for £950
Only thing that concerns me is the funny idle problem, is that common on these? Is it like on a corsa just replace idle control valve? or do diesels not have that??
Dont want to buy if could be diesel pump etc on its way out as I hear there expensive to fix

As above. People think it's the fuel pump it's something to do with the relays they can be soldered back together. They're mint though I had a 17dti hatchback on 150k miles ran amazing. 20 quid would easily see 200 miles. Iv now just bought a 2.0 dti astra

Here's mine owned from new by my dad since last year when I got it. Done 75K. Never abused and had cambelt, water pump, alternator, MOT, Tax and service recently done. Was thinking about selling it soon but it's worth a lot more to me than it's probably worth in cash value.
Edit; can't get the pic to work

looks alright that
Anyways, went to view a van the other night. 1st few minutes it idled fine, then i went to pull away and it spluttered, eml come on and then it cut out. it started again but really struggled to go anywhere.. it was a 1.6 8v petrol
I left the van, but the guy text me last night saying it was the water pump causing it and he is replacing this weekend if I was still interested in the van.
Surely a failing water pump wouldnt cause that?

The 1.7 suffers from oil coolers cracking aswell causing oil/water to mix. Seen a few of them like it now
