Just been told the engine has a coscast head.

Is it worth a punt?

If the mileage is honest on it, and the right price, worth a punt and a timing belt kit for peace of mind.

I also much prefer the coil pack models over the dizzy ones. Far more refined ignition system. But no reason a well serviced one cant be reliable.

The XE in my cavalier runs as quiet and smoothly as a 2 year old car would. 2 oap owners from new, will probably spit the headgasket as soon as it hits 3k revs. ;lol:

My dizzy xe is best i have had and ive had a couple and makes me when people say x16's keep up with c20xe's so why do so many people get rid of them for c20xe's? But a c20xe on carbs now thats the way forward!
