welding will be a good bet - the heat build up and cooling will break any corrosion in there and the stud will very very slightly shrink when it's cooled. i've got loads of stuff out in this way.
If anything it'd be the hub expanding around the bolt/ stud rather than the bolt shrinking due to heat - the only way you could get the bolt to shrink would be by freezing it.
Archie's method sound like the best so far tbh
when something is heated up a lot (i.e. when you weld it) and then cools, it shrinks to very slightly smaller than it was before you welded it, that's why panels can warp if you get too much heat into them.
it wouldn't shrink noticeably, we're talking microscopic amounts here, but this kind of movement is enough to break seized stuff free.

Kind of offsets the massive saving I got on the springs the bolt isn't seized in there so shoupd come out fine, it's just getting something in there to turn it thats the problem.

Just go out and try some of the simple ways that's been suggested. It shouldnt be tight so should come out fine. Also like someone said, take the disc off so you will have loads of room to grip it and it'll come straight out.

If he has managed to snap it whilst tightening it, i would imagine it will be pretty tight in.
Won't be mega impossible to remove tight, but certainly won't be as slack as what people are making out.

Ben seems to be ignoring the 'take off the disk' suggestions

It'll still have some interference on the thread but yeah, certainly not as much as if it had a head on holding a wheel.

But this is not a realistic option for him. It'll cost more to replace a hub than to get it drilled out.
Albeit, it may be more convenient for some people to buy a hub from a scrapyard and fit it themselves (but this can sometimes be a pain in the arse, as burning gear or a very long bar can be required for these tough parts) than take it to a garage and have them drill it for £20 or less?
If you have the access to a welder, weld a bolt to it and take it off that way. Or take it to a local garage, get them to spend 10 mins drilling it, doubt a small garage will charge you more than £20 for this job.
My old locking nut "key" fell out of the nut often when I had my old car but still managed to get wheels off whenever I needed to.

Whats the car? A ferrari? Hubs cost fuck all and you'll spend hours/days fucking around with it when you could just get a hub and fix it in a couple of hours.
