Assume I wanted to mix two different colour gloss paints - same products from the same brand, just different colours.
Would the colour mix ok and would it go off properly when applied?
I see no reason in theory since the chemical ratios won't have changed but the old man at the paint desk in B&Q was arguing otherwise......
Anyone know?

I want a dark blue gloss but I'm not bothered about the exact shade so long as its dark.
I have a recently bought tin of mid-blue but no receipt to return it.
Massively cheaper to buy an off the shelf black gloss and mix it up than to pay them to produce a custom tin.
Basically.

To be fair I'm not that bothered about the cost, just want to know if my thinking on the mix ratios not changing is correct

Would work fine if it was the same base.

Can't see no problem aslong as its mixed well. As you say same material, same make up and same brand. Just try a small amount mixed and see how it reacts.
Think they say that in the shops so it makes them more money.

As long as the make up of the paint is the same then there will be no problem.
Make sure its mixed thoroughly though.
