I think you're at the legal requirement for age, but I can't quite remember the legalities of the latter....

your mate needs to be insured on it.
from direct.gov
quote: If you want to practise your driving with an accompanying driver, the accompanying driver must be over the age of 21 and must have held (and still hold) a full licence, in the relevant vehicle category, for three years.
You should be ok, you don't have to be on the insurance, just the driver.

Although if for whatever reason, its normally sensible to be able to. If that guy gets in to a situation he can't get out of or loses his mind, I'd want to be able to get home.

Really, so if he was caught speeding you would be endorsed too? Can't see how, as while your their to.provide guidance and education, he's ultimately responsible for his own actions

Thats wrong about you getting a ticket if he gets one. But you do need to be sober and not on the phone.

You're there because he doesn't have the legal right to make his own decisions. You are supposed to make him follow the rules. If you're pissed how are you supposed to keep him in check?

21 and 3 years driving experience.
You need to be as if you were a driver, sober and off the phone. You are responsible for them.
