z20let started smoking quite bad recently on boost , then a big bang and the pipe in the picture had a big hole in it . what could be the cause? recently had a new vxr turbo and give it a service thats about it



this is not the picture of the actual car just one from google.

breather pipe, too much crank case pressure perhaps?

you didnt put too much oil in on the service did you?

I reckon the turbos knackered, burning oil and pressurising the crank.

put about 4 litres in from dry , but its been topped up quite a few times now.

could be the turbo wasnt new had done around 8k accodring to the advert

I have replaced that pipe on mine, crack with age, possible clog else where shouldn't be too much preasure to burst hose as its just a breather, vent to catch tank but MOT failiure.
