I have broken my bike and basically cut it into pieces, how can i notify the DVLA of it being scrapped/broken without it going to a vehicle breakers? In the log book you only seem to be able to send it off if its been taken away by a licensed vehicle dismantler or motor trader? i was just gunna sell the cut up pieces to some place down the road from me!

Use this

Vauxhall Corsa L123ABC

Dear Sirs,
I am writing to confirm that I have personally dismantled the aforementioned vehicle during my period of ownership.

The fluids were deposited at Otterspool Household Waste Recycling Centre, Jericho Lane, Aigburth. The residual metals were taken to S.Evans and Sons Ltd of Widnes. Neither facility provided a CoD as the vehicle was not in a recognisable form having been compacted for transport.

I understand that my written confirmation of destruction will be sufficient. I enclose the vehicle registration document.

Regards

The oil disposal and end of life vehicle facilities are listed in Location Services, link on the top bar.

Theres a box you tick on the logbook saying vehicle scrapped.

I ticked that and got a response letter 'thank you for notifying us you have scrapped/disposed of this vehicle'
