Do cars that fail MOT's have the failure cause typed into the computer so other Garages can see what it's failed on?
(random question that came up in work today)

would have thought only the garage that issued the MOT could bring up the MOT failure sheet, going by the fact that when people have wanted an MOT cert previously, i'm pretty sure that was the answer

They can, they can print a duplicate fail sheet out. but it would require knowing the original test number.
Edit.. well i belive so . ive never tried to do it for a fail.

iv taken a fail from one garage to another and it passed, the mot tester in the first garage was just being a cunt!

the tester cant be a ''cunt''
if he has failed something you think he was not ment to you can appeal against it.
but the chances are that the second garage missed what the first garage failed.
the only way for the second garage to see what the car failed on is to print issue a duplicate document, witch they would need the previous test number for.
