I need new rear pads for my Lex Is300 and I know a chap in eurocarparts
Can get Pagid brakes for £21 delivered, are these good brakes?
Genuine are double the price.
Mine are very noisey now so I take it its the "audible warning system" kicking in.

yeah, they'll be fine. I'm using Mintex and they're fine.
If you're going on a track or drive everywhere like a loon then you'll need Ferodos, otherwise just stick with the cheap stuff.

Theres a proper rubbing sound now and I cannot see the pads (quite hard to see!) The fronts are ok, but this rubbing sound has been like this for about 2 months but has recently got worse as I have driven quite a few miles on it.
ok cheers, will order the pagid rears!

I've got Pagid discs and pads on my car and think they do a decent job. I haven't used it on track, but they're more than adequate for road use, especially once they've warmed up a bit. Feels lovely then
Numberwang!

Pagid are owned by TMD friction, who also make Mintex, Jurid and Textar.
Textar are fitted from the factory to BMW, Mercedes and Porsche, amongst others.
If you take a Textar pad and remove the metal shim on the back, it will have a Pagid logo and part number.
Some of the OE Porsche pads will be Pagid in the box with no other logo.
So yeah, they'll do.

£100+ Ferodo pads are a waste of money for normal road driving, imo.
There's a guy on SCN who sells them and gets annoyed when you suggest Mintex or Pagid instead, because he makes more money selling Ferodo.

everything is a waste of money untill you need it
OE replacement is good enough for road use though, and thats what those pagids are. The 'ferrodo' pads you'll be referring to are sold as aftermarket/uprated.

Pagid do super expensive race pads, so I'd say they are a decent make, but you can't expect wonders from a £21 set of pads

good to know they're not bad pads. was going to get ebc red stuff for mine as they're squealing quite badly, but with 30% off from eurocarparts the pagid's are only £20.58. bargain.

He's an arrogant fucker of a guy as well. I bought my ds2500 pads and ebc discs off him and it cost me a pretty penny. I changed the pads for pagid ones for £35 and I can honestly say there just as good for everyday road use. Saves me £100 every time I need new pads.
