The thing is, I don't think there is any value in using that as a USP anyway. You are significantly narrowing your potential client list, because any clients that don't need a secure service won't be prepared to pay a premium.

A lot of people will be happy if you say it's encrypted in transit, just go for that market instead, your friend could do the secure bits on her own..

Do you mean just make sure the upload/download bit is secure? Then leave the rest normal?

That's the only bit you have any control of anyway, keep it encrypted when it's stored on the server also. If you band about SSL and xxxbit encryption most people won't look any further. The ones that have specific requirements just go to your friend.
