Needing some more clay and its been ages since I last bought the Bilt Hamber one off ebay and cant remember which one is best for general use?
Choices are regular, soft or medium?

soft or medium. regular is quite aggressive 
I use soft on most cars these days. rarely even need to step up to medium.

Soft the weaker of the 2 then? I'll stick with that then. Isnt any visual marking but paint doesnt feel very smooth and wanting to start with a clean sheet before glaze and wax etc

Yeh soft is the 'softest' (surprisingly enough  ) Medium was only bought out fairly recently. Between those 2, I rarely find the need for regular anymore.
From your description soft should be fine for you

Regular normally if its not ever been done,
but then I stick with medium
personal preference I guess

Regular is amazing for heavy contamination. It shifted loads of laquer overspray off my car, which nothing else would shift.

Agreed, its a good starter clay if you've not clayed it before. Got loads of regular ones if anyone ever wants one  £5

I used regular aswell. Simply because it hadn't been done before and had loads of tar spots which it removed with ease.
