Looking to upgrade computer, ocz 128gb vertex 4 ssd for OS and Esata connected drive for file store.

As drive is the slowest part on the speed report

samsung 830 is better. look on crucial theyre dropping prices by the day

Crucial M4 everyday of the week. Best all rounder and as Lee said, fantastic value for money.

Intel 520 series are bloody good. Not too pricey here in aus and good performance across the board

Few years ago the shittier SSD's were not much faster than best rotary drives so you had to keep your eyes open when on the market.

Today things are much different and even the cheaper SSD's deliver a huge performance upgrade not to mention the much overlooked improvement in battery life on laptops.

SSD is something I could never live without again. If you can't stretch it for the top of the range model, just get a cheaper one. It'll still be the most impressive performance boost you can give almost any computer.
