the fiesta is far too small for what we use it for (dump trips, taxi, buying shit from ikea etc), and like the look of the jukes.
i have no interest in your personal opinion of the aesthetics of them as i know they're very controversial. i didn't like them at first, but do now.
what are they like to drive? they look to be a jacked up 5 door supermini so wondered whether they have quite a lot of bodyroll? also, driving to scotland in a 1.25 fiesta was effort. the jukes are a 1.6 iirc so would be ideal.
i think john's bird has one?

not just yet.
i'd just like a 5 door car. my car is mine and her car is ours. the fiesta is nice, just a bit small.
we don't want something massive as the other half will be driving it to work and i don't want her smashing cars up when parking, so i figured this was a good compromise.

Have herd the boots are really small on them for the size of car they are. And cant see them being a practical 5 seater the shape they are. I love the look of them tho.

boot and rear passenger space is small, ok for the two front people. Partners mum has a petrol one through work, Id have a look at the quashqai.

GF has one, she loves it, I like driving it, nice car.
Boot isn't any bigger than her corsa D, possibly smaller.
Not sure if I'd want to drive to Scotland in the petrol, it's not geared for motorway driving.

cheers john.
what's it like when the back seats are folded down? do rear passengers have to be kids to fit in?
we had a quick 5 minute look at one up in scotland and it looked quite large compared to the fiesta.
do you know what revs it sits at when cruising at 60-70mph? i think i's about 3.5k in mine so around that would be fine.

When back seats are folded it's not too bad, we've used it for carting a couple of bits of furniture about.
I've not really sat in back but have had adults in it, they didn't complain on the short journey.
It's deceptively small, looks a lot bigger than it is.

It's probably not far off that, was just annoying me because I'm used to sitting at idle in a diesel.

my dad has a fully kitted out kuga and for my budget, i'd only get a poverty spec one with shit wheels
they're lovely cars though. would definitely get one if they were within my circa 12k budget.

Seen one in a really dark grey yesterday and it looked sweet.

Did 24k in a brand new 1.25 Fiesta. You have to rag the balls out of them to move anywhere quickly. Wasn't too bad on fuel to be honest. Decent cars, I'd have another one at the right price. Mine was a company car. I've got a 308 now which is a little bit faster and a better spec but the 1.6 petrol engine is poor on fuel.
Not looked at the Juke, think they are a bit of a girls car. If you do a few miles I'd go for a half decent diesel engine though.

Mum had a Juke for a bit (I began to call it the Joke). Boot space and the back passenger space is tiny (I'm 5ft 9" and I squashed as fuck in the back). Boot actually wouldn't take my wee brother's buggy. Had to strap it into the seats in between me & Oran's (wee brother) car seat. MPG was terrible too as far as I remember.
If you budget is 12k, I'd strongly suggest an 06+ Nissan Pathfinder. We got one after the Joke was sold off, best car we've ever had as a family (and we had a 250bhp Citroen Xantia for a bit!) Bought ours for 10k, just under 60k miles on the clock, electric seats, satnav, the works!

are they really as big inside as you require though?
I driven a qashqui which is a similar shape and although its a jacked up car, the inside of it was tiny - packed full of bulky chairs and to be fair, not a lot of headroom for what the car looks like from the outside.

Pathfinder
I didn't think MPG was that bad, gets about 37mpg doing 10 miles a day.
