i went to work today and the car was running fine but after work it wouldnt start but it ended up starting but will not tick over and all the way through the range it eractically misfires. i am going to have a look tomorrow but wonder if theres anything i could look for the car has 80k on it the clock. its a c14nz auto dizzy type engine thanks in advance

Wont know 100% till you whip the head off but i'd have a new gasket kit waiting to go back on though

Most say it needs to be skimmed regardless but ive never bothered and have always been fine.
Unless its proper fucked obv

ok cheers hopefully wont need to be done got 2days to get it done and engineers round here are abit slow

so took the head off today blown through 3&4 on the gasket so checked the head over doesnt need skimming cleaned up fitted new gasket bolted all back up compression tested and they all about equal it fires up but still misfiring abd wont tick over next thing must be ignition timing?

try timing maybe you leads are on wrong? checked compression after doing head gasket?
