May sound a bit cheap cheapy but I got some Autosol type 'Wadding' that comes in a tin from Home & Bargain and that really worked on my SS jobbie.

The elbow grease you can buy in squirty bottles, yellow liquid is damn awesome stuff. brilliant for dirty engine bays aswell
