I have a Samsung TV to which I've been streaming content via the laptop using WMP, Vuze, Mezzmo and Samsungs own software but neither allow forwarding.
Has anyone come across anything that will allow you to forward?
Many a time the connection will drop half way though a film forcing us to watch from the beginning agian.
You can skip forward but only about 3 second at a time.

I've found it depends more on the video format than what's serving it.
mkv's seem to work great in general, avi and wmv not so much.

I managed to get MKV's playing through WMP. It's not really getting them to play that the problem its the lack of control once they're playing, no scrubbing, fast forward, pause, pick up where you left off etc.

Not sure, think it started accepting them after installing the FDShow or Haali codec packs.
Tis annoying have to keep navigating to %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\ and deleting the files in there to get it to accept new content.

My TV sees all the DLNA servers I have running on the network, I can choose serviio or ps3ms or windows media or whatever, all show up at the same time.
You can turn media player network sharing off if it's causing a problem.

There's a service for it also I think.
