In theory (in my head) they'd look the cars over and could charge a small amount for extra wear on tyres & drivetrain.

Calculating that could end up a court job though. Be interesting to know what happens in practise.

Not really as I'm tempted to hire one for my 25th bday weekend,
Loosing 3 grand would make me cry!
The excess is mad also!

I wouldn't say so, the reason they're hiring them is probably cause they can't afford them

Legends though!

What happens if a car is nicked then. The car hire company raise it to you and you direct the police straight to them?

Correct,

We've recovered so many this year,

the installs on these particular cars are good. and they've have trouble locating them within an hour. which by then usually buys us some time to notice it missing and locate it.

Don't really want to go too much in to detail but we've put a few measures into place to make sure they can use the GPS Jammers etc

When I got our (personal)cars got nicked in 2010 we were advised bythe police that if you car has a tarcker you need not pay the annlla fee

The company will deactivate your tracker but if your car is stolen on escalting to the police they request the tracker compnay re-activates the tracker
