Strange move IMO. Guess he'd rather be down south.

Why would he do that? Go to a club that's very soon going to br flogging its young stars? Seems a very strange move imo.

Part of the deal to bring him to Palace was that we wouldn't sell the likes of Zaha & Joniestas!
We don't need to sell. We've got 4 owners worth 750m between them and are all Palace fans through and through. We're developing these players for one reason only.
Steve Parish surprised called us on my radio show the other day, listen here...

Errrr yeah, how's that going to work? You're Crystal Palace, not Barcelona. You might not need to sell but if a big club come in for them you've got no choice, players have the control, you'll have to let them go.
Or are Zaha and this other guy life long Palace fans too who love the club and will never leave?

Nat Clyne saw out his contract and always said he was off at the end, we respected him for having the decency to not walk off at the earliest opportunity. He turned down Wolves and a few others prem teams. Difference is Zaha and Joniesta are contracted until they're 24. Listen to the radio interview, Zaha is going absolutely no where in January. In the summer we'll be premiership anyway so won't need to leave then either

If a decent Premiership club comes in for Zaha in January he is away, do not delude yourself.

Absolute rubbish
Any other club I'd agree. We're a very different club than most these days.
The £10-15m we'd get for him doesn't come close to the £110m we'd get in promotion to the premiership money. It's a no brainer really. Small chance he'll go in the summer if we're not promoted, only to be fair to the lad. He's easily premiership quality.

Seriously, looking in from the outside, this move doesn't add up to me. I wouldnt say thats much of a career 'progressing' move.
Although the same can be said for the manager who's just left.
The managerial merry-go-round in the championship is mental. Something like 5 new managers taking charge of their first games today?

He was on a rolling contract at Blackpool and their owner said that wasn't going to change any time soon. We offered him stability in a location he prefers closer to his family. Freedman on the other hand.. club legend, best form of his short managerial career, 'I dont leave a job half done' and leaves 48 hours later. All for the money.
But yeah, that's five without IH as he doesn't take charge until Tuesday. Its ridiculously crazy, nobody has any commitment to anything anymore. I think every CPFC fan felt we had finally found some stability but it wasn't to be. Good result for him last night though, did us a favour as we can go top next match now.
Ian Holloway is incredibly passionate isn't he....
