Going to go and pick up a iPhone 5 today as my contract is up on my 4, I've already backed it up on the laptop. What i'm wondering is when I plug in the new one will all my data... Texts/emails/info be transferred to that?

Do an loud backup, then when you turn on the 5 just choose the option to set it up from the iCloud backup. Won't even have to plug it in to a computer

Yes it will ask if you want to back up from dd/m/year IIRC and you chose the latest one. Done
