Look at them endless ink systems, basically tubes that go into each cartridge, to a rack of ink pots, that you just fill up with fluid when required
But even chipped cartridges can be reset, copied etc for cheap.

Bought a cheap Kodak esp 3.2s yesterday from Currys. Official black and colour ink as a package are £15. Cheap enough for what i use it for.

If you only want black and white these some decent laser printers about.
Got a £60 Samsung one 3 years ago, only use it time to time but still going strong. Must've done 3000 pages by now, bargain.

I snipe colour lasers off Ebay, most I've ever paid is £21, never paid for toner yet and I do quite a bit of printing.

Even brand new lasers cost fuck all these days. You often see Samsung or Brother printers for about £40/£50 or so in places like Staples and they are great for everyday printing, in fact I used to have a Brother HL-2030 I think it was before I sold it and bought myself another Brother laser but with a built-in scanner/copier/fax machine (MFC-7360N).
Can highly recommend the Brother laser printers.

They are laser printers mate, no cartridges just toner
I think a replacement toner for the one I've got now was about £40 and does something like 2,600 pages.

The ones I had are only monochrome printers.
No idea about the price for colour toners though - I assume you'd have to buy 4 separate ones (CMYK), and the printer prices are obviously going to be dearer for the privilege.
