I'll be coming into some money soon, and want to change the 1.6 engine to a Z20LET engine in my '04 Astra SXi.
Obviously i'll need;
Engine inc' everything
Loom
Bigger brakes
But what else would i need to look into getting?

Just buy a Coupe/Gsi. Cost bugger all these dayS, will be cheaper to insure easier to sell and a lot less hassle for you.

buy a astra coupe turbo, keep what you need and sell everything else, best way to do it.

Really want a GSi, but its the fact most have high milage, my Astras only done 52k.
So the bodywork/engines mint..

You don't plan on keeping that engine in it though

Fuck swapping the engine in a car when you can buy the same type of car with the engine already in
That's just a ball ache. Plenty of Z20Let cars out there just find a low mileage looked after one. You'd probably get a good swap/px deal if someone's looking for something better on fuel etc?

^ to me that seems massively overpriced for a gsi though? Can get relatively standard ones for 3.5k with 70-80k on them

I bought, Astra coupe turbo for a grand, for my Corsa C swap I've got planned. Imo it's pretty much mint condition, with 100k on the clock.
