i bet when you come up behind some cars on track, they have to take a second look when they realise its a van passing them lol

Bloody hell, that video helps to show just how fast your van is!
Did anybody from that track session come to find you afterwards and ask you in surprise at what you'd done to it to make it that quick?!

A guy was having a passenger ride in the atom and came over after and said they were not expecting for me to keep up with them. Most people fine it really fun and enjoy something different being on track that's quick. . .
But Then you get the other side of it where people have an exige, m3, evo that they feel can't possibly be be overtaken by an astra van so don't really like to get out they way. Little bit like the 2 lotus in the vid, I think the elise should have let me past on the straight when the atom passed but instead he tried to stay in front for about half a lap, then when I catch the white exige he also does not want to accept a van can be quicker. . . . .
It's great fun tho.

Normally wot happens at a track day. . .
Turn up and get loads of confused looks by people who don't understand y a van is coming to track day. Think few people prob laughing at it
Then do sighting laps
Then go out for season, come back in with most of pits seeming to be staring at me, then a little gathering of people come to see y it's so quick.
At angelsey last time on first time out I let a 106 pass that I noticed had a intercooler on it, then followed him around for few laps, I was only on my road tires but was fun keeping up, he came straight over cos he normally is quicker then most cars on track so wanted to know y I was so quick, his car broke quite early in the day so never got another blast against him but it was running 280hp in a little 106, I was happy to keep up with road tires on, still keep in touch with him and hopefully with go to another track day with him.

There was a caddy on last track day I did with 20vt. Was rapid.
Astra looks very quick! Although I did spend 2 laps of watching the flip paint on the centre console change color

Haha, get quite few comments about the flip painted wheels also, they look quite cool, just shame I can't see them from inside the car, lol
Was a red caddy van running slicks etc at donny last year went pretty well also, not sure wot engine was in that.

Great vid mate! Love the fact that your using All the track! Elise and Atom seem a bit nervous to put it on the kerbs, not the mighty Astra though, love it!
Just on a side note, a mate of mine had his Astra Coupe corner weighted by a Touring car team and they slated him for having a raised bonnet. They said it can actually has a negative effect with regards to heat (causes a hot spot around the inlet manifold area) and is terrible for aerodynamics (you want 0 panel gap to avoid drag). I know it looks great but I'd consider lowering it if I were you.

Ahhhh I may try lowering it down then, I raised it cos had few issues in past with water temps not really for looks. Could always low it down and make some sort of vent it the bonnet to get rid of heat instead. Will have to let us know when your doing a track day sometime and try come along, be nice to have a fellow vauxhall on a track days. Only normal vauxhalls I see a vx220s on track days.

Don't know much about the white exige never got chance to go have a chat with him to find out about the car, he was running on slicks and sure he had a extra silencer on the end of his exhaust to get through the noise regs so much be fairly well modified. Sounded nice could hear the supercharger wining, so guess its either a tweeked normal Toyota engine one or could have type r charged engine.
