Unfortunately, you get what you pay for. 2.0 litre is best value for money for pure performance but there are cheaper ways - just don't get as much benefit.

Theres no way you can make it any faster im afraid. Various tuning bits can be added on but you are looking at hardly any change apart from throttle response. IF you are really serious about trying to edge something out of it, get a K&N panel filter, drill the airbox and get a nice cold airfeed to it. Then completely strip it and save your pennies for something better. Either get the C20XE from an Astra GTE/Cavalier/Calibra or get another corsa, either the Sport 1.4/1.6 or the GSi.

Only drive when it's really cold, you'll get more power!

Just give it a full service. Change the air filter and spark plugs and put some decent oil in it. That way your probably gonna get the best out of what little you have. It might not actualy go any faster but phsycalogicaly it will seem to, and it always runs smother with fresh oil.

Weight reduction, a mate ripp[ed out the rear seats and sll other crap from his clio 1.2 and i was quite a bit faster, as it happens the rear seats weigh the same as a pack of fags, but the lighter the better. In the end though, the engines pretty feeble for a 1.2, a 1.016vMicra made 60 bhp, the basic models were only 810 kg too.
