Here for sale is my girlfriend's 1997 Vauxhall Corsa. It is in generally good condition, and is a fantastic daily runaround. It has been well looked after and regularly serviced. She has now bought a new car and so that is the reason for sale.
The chassis has done 111,675 but the underside is in excellent condition, with no evidence of rust, or any previous repairs.
Although it started life as a 1.2 8v, that engine has been replaced with a 1.4 8v unit at some point in the vehicle's life. The engine runs great, is reliable and pulls well. It has had a recent timing belt replacement and the clutch has also been replaced less than 200 miles ago.
There are a number of tuning upgrades on it, which include a GMAX 40mm Lowering kit (Uprated shocks and springs), an Ashley Competition Cat-back exhaust system and a set of Tigra 15inch alloy wheels. The brakes have been uprated using 2litre Cavalier discs and calipers which are a vast improvement over the OEM items. It has a Tigra scuttle panel and a slatted front grille - which look smart, and a set of Depo smoked front headlights. The interior also has a full set of Corsa sport seats in good condition, and there is a spare wheel with a good tyre.
This would be a great first car or could provide a good base for a project if someone wanted to take it that way. Either way it's a good example and a good buy, even if it's for the parts.
