Does any one on here have one? Used to have one a few years ago when I lived at home, looking at getting our own one now we have our own place and the time to dedicate to it. Any one who has one know of any good breeders or people / things to avoid ect

Got a minuture smooth hair Dachshund, couldnt have asked for any better tbh

mines 6 months now, be aware they are proper characters, they dont like beeing left alone at all, and are either buzzing or asleep, nothing inbetween

with regards to breeders if you get a pedigree and registered with the kennal club etc they should have ensured before they are breed both the mum and dad arent a PRA carrier (Progressive Retinal Atrophy . This disease can affect some breeds of dog early in their life. PRA is a family of diseases which gradually degrade the retina.

apart from that and not letting them jump due to back damage and disk compression im sure your aware of all the other traits like the stupidly loud bark for how big they are, and they fact they want to dig, and arent easy to train
