TBH it is a good thing my old golf had one on as standard and come in handy.

Pow could you not just get the sensor out of a puma or golf washer bottle to save you making one

Just cut a hole in your front wing so you can see how much fluid is left without opening the bonnet

I'm pretty sure you can't do that on the motorway.

Does everyone think early warning systems for hurricanes are a stupid idea too?

Its not a stupid idea what he wants to do.

But imo its alot of hassle for very little gain.

Having the warning lamp still won't allow him to stop on the motorway if he runs out.

My vectra tells me, gives me enough warning that I can go another day or so then fill it up. Good idea but a pain in the hole to make it work/look factory.

I fill it up once every 10/12 days probably? But I only do it when it's competely run out. Tell you what, I'll do it then you can tell me if you like it

Stupid car, can tell me this:

Ohh no giveashit, but not if my washer fluid is low. My Mum's 2001 SLK can do that FFS

It tells him to avoid overusing the washers and keep an eye out for services, many of which now have water available on their tyre inflators where he can top up or as a worst case scenario, buy some ready-mixed screenwash so that he doesn't have to run out and have the issue of not having suitable visibility. Filling up everyday is all well and good until you realise most days you don't actually use the washers so you naturally talk yourself into topping them up less and less often until you're back to square one and running out.

Sounds like you need to install your own Eco friendly waterbutt.

My Ford Cougar has that low washer bottle fluid warning light (I always thought most cars had them these days?), but I always keep a bottle of screenwash in the boot just in case - like for example if I'm on some long journey somewhere far from home.

I never bother checking my oil levels though as I know most of it is safely on the driveway underneath my car

Like fuck I have time to lift my bonnet every morning before I go to work

Oh my car tells me my oil level just before I start it too and it has a low coolant light, and a low brake fluid warning.

Well I've installed it all, got an orange LED lit up when it's low... need an insert now for the light, so, does anyone have a dashboard that I can have with a low fluid level light, like this (the top one, not the bottom one):

I was shocked when I discovered even an N reg Nissan Sunny has a warning light

Another bonus with having factory xenons and washers for them is usually the washer bottle is huge, 5.5 L on the golf
