It's not as bad when people who do it as a profession use the word, however when Fred 'details' his car on a Sunday afternoon by washing it and slapping on some Super Resin Polish... Not cool.

When I picked my car up, the previous owner said he was a "keen detailer" and he quantified that by saying "I clean the door shuts and everything"

No point doing it this time of year i find. I have spent many hours on the corrado in the past, but these days i'm just blasting it with the jet wash, washing then don't even bother to dry

Keen detailer but doesn't notice his V pills on the floor.

I'm all for cleaning your car, but wash, wax, vacuum and tyre shine (even clay bar) is not detailing!!!

OCD and getting paid for it (I.E Polished Bliss) is detailing!

Agree with that. Got no problem with professionals like Clark using it, i think its right to differentiate washing a car, which is done by some polish folk at a disused petrol station and detailing a car, which is a completely different service altogether.

Anyone who uses the word "detailing" when they are giving their car a pretty standard clean on the driveway is clearly a bit of a cunt.

is this the same chap that 'detailed' his one day old VXR...

Can't speak for what it looked like then but 4 years on its still a very very clean car despite being used on trackdays by my mate for the past couple of years. So I guess the detailing has done something!
