I've done this as i've upped my calorie intake to 3000 per day as i'm training and want to gain 10kg of weight steadily over about a year.
I just calculated my recommended intake based on this http://www.exrx.net/Calculators/CalRequire.html and it recommends I should be eating 3700 cals per day I struggle enough eating 3000!
Is it a load of bollocks or what?

I struggle to eat 3000 cals in a working day as at 0630 I dont want to eat a big breakfast then only have short breaks at work so cant prepare anything. Protein shakes starting soon though so will be drinking more milk to boost calories.

4230 for me. Which is probably about right considering I walk to work and cycle a lot in my spare time.

I eat anywhere between 4,500-5,500 cals everyday.
It's not hard just got to know what to eat and how often. And yes that's eating clean also. I.e no mcDonald's or kfc ect... 700 cals each meal and 2 protein shakes will be enough to gain you those cals you need.

I would personally worry more about your macros than calorie counting in terms of weight training..
Assuming your of average build.. Can't really go wrong with: 300g carbs; 300g protein & 80-100g fats. That will take you to between 3000-4000cals a day depending on your food sources.

Eating 2000 calories in rubbish such as mcdonalds and a share bag of crisps. Wheres as 2 chicken breasts, protein chake, nuts and cottage cheese etc is a lot different!
