http://www.strava.com/

I'm loving this app at the moment. It does the usual like mapmyrun etc, of logging stats etc.
But this app adds the element of Competition!

Different cyclists record routes and then you have to beat their times or see how you place on the leader board.

It's like playing a computer game like colin mcrae rally or forza where you compete for best times over stages, but in real life on foot or on bike

Normally use Sports Tracker (http://www.sports-tracker.com/#/view_profile/deano_87 - will only show public routes) but been recommended Strava so going to try it.

Best feature on Strava is you can exclude your house postcode area, so it will start and stop recording away from where you live automatically, so you don't get burgled. Theoretically you can make all workouts public.

http://app.strava.com/athletes/1562445. Only workout I've added was an exported .GPX file from Sports Tracker.

Follow yeah and I'll follow back.

deano, I've heard about people having to drive up people's driveways to beat segment lap records and become KOM

- I just like the fact it lets me easily discover routes to go ride near by on road (Loads were in Swinley Forest too) and it makes it fun as you can try to beat other people's times and see where you stack up.

This article made me laugh : http://303cycling.com/are-you-a-stravasshole

The fact someone was tearing along refusing to slow down just shouting 'STRAVA!!!' - because they were going for the record time

i use that endomondo now. the other free ones ive tried seem to magic up the average mph speed and women numbers burned off. that strava is a load of bollocks for that.
