In an ideal world i'd have a snap on one, but mainly looking for one for buzzing wheel nuts on/off. the occasional suspension change etc. Not something that'll get hammered day in/day out but needs to be upto the job. Cordless and battery. Without the snap on price. Few on ebay i'm aware of already...

Do things like the makita work for use on cars etc?

I know my brother has has had about 4 'cheap' (still 400 quid) ones and every one has went back, they break really quickly.

18v Makita ones are cracking tools, had mine over a year now and it takes a bit of a beating with doing heavy plant and rail work so it's more than up to being used on cars, I use it for running wheel nuts on and off all the time but I tend to crack them with a breaker bar first

Buying a second hand snap on one will be better than a new makita

Hilti, possibly slightly more expensive than the Makita but they are brilliant.

You could buy a cheap compressor and an air gun with the price of some of those cordless ones! I say snap on just can't beat there quality IMO, Chicago pneumatic are also very very good.

Snap on also sell Chicago pneumatic.

Snap on... I have had both 1/2" 18v versions, the newer one with lithium battery is alot move powerful. You can get upgrades for the older model to put to lithium battery on it but are very costly
