Right, My mates laptop won't connect to his tv. When we plug it in by hdmi the tv shows a fuzzy screen. That same cable with an Xbox is fine, different cables with the laptop give the same fuzzy screen. The laptop on different tv's works fine. Sam laptop with different ports is fuzzy. My MacBook over hdmi works on the tv.
Seems its just am incompatibility issue with this exact tv and laptop.
Any ideas at all?

Have you tried having it on the correct channel first THEN booting the laptop?

Set the screen resolution right to the lowest and try working your way up
