Just a quick question. Am I right on thinkin that you snow foam the car then simply rinse off then wash the car as normal with a good shampoo and mitt then rinse again then dry and then clay bar and then shampoo again before drying again then polish/wax to finish??? That's the right order isn't it???

Thats the order I go with, think its more or less correct. I dont bother drying before claying though, isnt necessary so saves some time

Snowfoam
Rinse
Hand wash
Rinse
Clay
Hand wash
Rinse
Dry
Polish/Glaze
Wax / Sealant

Yep. That's exactly what I do. Drying is the worst part. Usually go for a quick drive. But then you risk a little dirt again.

Dryings a pain, when polishing I open and close the doors and boot a few times before I start. Garunteed when I open them during polishing there will be a run of water appear, get onto the pad and turn into a nightmare

I bought an overpriced detailing towel and to be honest it's the best thing I've bought, other than my pressure washer.

I can do the full car without wringing it out or replacing it, just go round the spoiler/doorhandles/etc with a microfibre after slamming the doors shut a few times.

Iv got a big drying towel aswell. Theres also the open hose method, this helps get the bulk of the water off before drying

I read about this method last year and the amount of time it saves me in the drying proces is just unreal.

Talking of rain.

Fucking annoying with the Skoda. If theres water on the boot hatch, when you open it, it pours into the boot.

Its a know fault.

Fucking redic.

CR-Z does something similar, except it's when you open the doors a pile of water spills on to the seats...

Yeah, when you rinse the car in stead of spraying it, just use an open hose and let the water run softly down the car.
In stead of leaving beads all over the car, the water runs all the way off leaving next to nothing on the paint.

Sounds bizarre, but it works. Well kept paint gives the best results though.

"Sheeting" is the detailer elite term for what the water does iirc.

Needs to be paint thats already well protected etc as said.

I tend to blast the car with the pressure washer to make sure any suds are relieved from their cracks and crannies - then go with the open hose on low pressure. Works a treat!

I can't be bothered with messing about taking the attachments off the end of the hose so use the pressure washer, but spray it along the panel instead of at it perpendicularly, so then it 'pushes' it off and less is left behind.

Reminds me of my old fiesta. When you opened the boot the rain water used to drain out on to you, usually straight down the back of your neck
