My other halfs dad did all the decorating when.we.first move in. I wasn't happy about it tbh as 1) it wasn't his house and 2) he can't cut/hang wallpaper for shit.
At least if you do it yourself you know it's done to.your standard.

I've literally just finished painting the ceiling in the living room. Rock and roll.

I know the colours are boring but we had to decide quickly and these were better than the pink
Nightmare colour to cover is pink, 5 coats of the light colour, 3 of the dark!
Wish I wasn't at work today but it means the missus and my mum are doing the garden, which is fine by me!

I always stick a couple of coats of white on first when doing colour changes.

I did think that but there was an offer on paint in b&q so the white was more money that either of the colours lol

Fair enough then, mainly the money reason I use white.
I find the £13 10l white Crown to be OK if you need white, painted the garage in it.

I also used crown white paint to cover the satin scarlet red silk in our kitchen. 2 coats and you wouldn't even know it had been bright red before

Took the spare paint back to B&Q last night, bought far too much, 6 cans.
3 of the light colour and used 1, one white for the bathroom, 2 of the dark colour and used half!
So, I've kept the half tin of brown, the white and took 3 back.
When I bought them, B&Q had a deal on, 2 tins for £30 so £90 in total.
'Lost' my receipt so got refunded for the full price on the 3 tins, £67.48
3 tins of Dulux paint cost me £22.48

Replaced all the radiators on Sunday, what a PITA. All the originals were odd sizes so out of the 7 I did, 1 fitted first time, all the others needed adjustment to pipes.
Got someone looking at our 'driveway' tomorrow night as I'm sick of gravel going all over the road.
